I know its a little late, but here they are:
1) Pittsburgh Steelers- The defending champs haven't lost a step this season and don't expect them to. This is a very strong group with a coach that knows his team. Can you say repeat?
2) New England Patriots- Tom Brady showed why he is the best QB in the game on Monday night. Even though the defense is aging, expect the offense to pick up the slack.
3) Minnesota Vikings- Brett Favre won't have to carry his new team this season and it should keep the QB healthy and productive. If Sunday's tilt against Cleveland was any indication of what's to come for the Vikings, they could be Super Bowl Contenders. Oh yeah, and they got a guy named Adrian Peterson.
4) New York Giants- The Giants will rely heavily on Eli Manning and Brandon Jaccobs this season with some guys on the defensive side banged up. They are still a championship contender.
5) San Diego Chargers- They are almost a lock in their division and will make the playoffs. The only question is whether or not they get caught up in their own hype.
6) Indianapolis Colts- They didn't look good on Sunday, but they didn't look to bad either. Hank Baskett will add to the receiving core while Gonzalez is out. With Bob Sanders back from injury, the defense is solid. Peyton will get his team into the playoffs.
7) Philadelphia Eagles- Bolstered their defense in the off-season. Even if McNabb can't stay healthy, Michael Vick or Jeff Garcia will pick up the slack and they'll be fine.
8) Baltimore Ravens- Defense, Defense, Defense. Oh yeah and Joe Falcco isn't half bad either. They'll contend.
9) Arizona Cardinals- A lot of people think last season was a fluke. I'm not one of them. The only issue is, they didn't do anything to improve in the off-season.
10) Atlanta Falcons- A year of seasoning could only help Matt Ryan. Look for him to have a breakout season and cement himself as a rising star in the league.
12) Green Bay Packers- The defense was solid on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers is only getting better. This is a good young team.
13) Dallas Cowboys- They looked good on Sunday but I'm not sold. They need a huge season from receiver Roy Williams if they are going to contend.
14) New Orleans Saints- The Saints looked good against a bad team. Everyone knows Drew Brees will perform but there are too many questions on defense.
15) Buffalo Bills- T.O. is in town. It should be an interesting year in Buffalo. The Bills had a good year but faltered late last season. They seem to have a knack for losing big games. I have a feeling they might surprise.
16) Chicago Bears- I would have ranked them higher until I learned Brian Urlacher is out for the season. even though his skills have declined, he is the heart and soul of the Bears. I don't know how well Cutler can do without a good receiving core.
17) New York Jets- The Jets looked great on Sunday but I don't have faith they can keep it up all season. Sanchez looks like he's going to be a stud in the NFL but he can't carry a team.
18) Tennessee Titans- They had a good run last season. After the way the team looked Week 1, don't count on them to repeat last years' heroics.
19) Seattle Seahawks- The only team with vital signs in the NFC West. Surprisingly, they looked good Week 1, considering Hasselbeck is getting used to a new offense.
20) San Francisco 49ers- The defense looked great, could be up there with the best this season. With a little more support from the offense, the 49ers could turn some heads this season.
21) Washington Redskins- Couldn't produce anything offensively against the Giants defense. They are going to need to work on a lot to get back on track.
22) Miami Dolphins- After riding a high at the end of last season, the Dolphins are going to suffer this year. They have a tough schedule and a sub-par team.
23) Denver Broncos- I hear there are some tumultuous relationships in the locker room that need to be mended before they anyone can call them a team. It's a shame because they have some talent.
24) Jacksonville Jaguars- I give them credit to their defense for containing Peyton Manning and the Colts offense in Week 1. Don't expect much from them though.
25) Houston Texans- Still need a lot of work before they can contend.
26) Carolina Panthers- Why do some people believe in this team? After watching Delhomme turn the ball over 5 times on Sunday, it looks like its going to be a long season in Carolina.
27) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- I give them credit for 450 yards on offense but Byron Leftwich isn't going to lead them to the promise land.
28) Cincinnati Bengals- This is another tumultuous situation. Chad "whatever his name is" has to go before this team can start building for the future. How did they manage to lose that game on Sunday?
29) Oakland Raiders- We all know the situation isn't good in Oakland but it looks as though the team is improving. Don't expect them to do anything this season though.
30) Kansas City Chiefs- The defense stinks. And without Matt Cassel, they are hopeless.
31) Detroit Lions- The only reason they aren't last is because the St. Louis Rams don't have Matt Stafford.
32) St. Louis Rams- If you saw highlights of sundays game, you know why I don't need an explanation for this pick.
