Notes:
- Go back to my UFC Fight Night Preview to check out my predictions for the two big fights. I had Roger Huerta defeating Gray Maynard via knock out in the first round. I made the pick because I felt that Huerta would try to make a statement in his final fight in the UFC. Thankfully, I picked Diaz to win by submission in the second round! I knew Diaz was a slow starter and that all he needed was to take the fight to the ground. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST!
- The Ultimate Fighter Premiere kicked off tonight following UFC Fight Night. If you checked out the show's sneak peak in my Featured Videos Section, it was obvious coach "Rampage" Jackson wanted Kimbo Slice as his first choice. He got what he asked for, selecting Kimbo second overall. Coach Rashad Evans took his training partner, James McSweeny, as the first pick after winning the coin toss. Because Evans selected first, Jackson got to pick the first two fights. In the first fight, Rampage placed his fighter, Abe Wagner against Jon Madsen, a wrestler out of Matt Hughes' camp. The fight finished via decision after Madsen dominated for two rounds, giving Wagner a nasty gash on the forehead that caused him to bleed excessively. Wagner had absolutely no takedown defense and Madsen didn't need to do much to take the first win for Team Rashad. This was a sub-par fight at best. A preview of the season was aired after the show concluded. Footage showed a lot of arguments between the two coaches, fighter confrontations and a lengthly clip of "Rampage" destroying a door in the UFC training facility. This season looks to be a good one. Check back next week for another update.
- The Neary Report will be doing another preview for UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort that takes place on Saturday. Check back on Friday night for more.
