MLB
- The Minnesota Twins have signed highly-touted Dominican prospect, SS Miguel Angel Sano. The deal will pay the 16-year-old a whopping $3.15 million in signing bonuses. Some questions surrounding Sano's identity and age were cleared up this summer before he was allowed to sign with a team.
- The Cleveland Indians have announced that they have fired manager Eric Wedge on Wednesday. A press conference to announce that Wedge and his entire staff will be relieved of their duties will commence at Progress Field at 1:30 p.m.
- The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the Dodgers and GM Ned Colletti are negotiating a long-term contract extension.
- The Washington Post is reporting that the Washington Nationals are trying to lure Bobby Valentine as manager for next season. Valentine recently returned from a stint in Japan to be an analyst on ESPN.
- Former New York Yankee 2B Chuck Knobluach surrendered to Texas police on Tuesday after being charged for assaulting his common-law wife. According to police, Knoblauch had been drinking heavily on Friday night when he hit and choked his partner, Stacey Stelmach.
- Detroit Tigers P Jeremy Bonderman will return to the rotation next season according to reports. Bonderman has been a reliever since his return from the DL.
NBA
- According to the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers and star SG Kobe Bryant have begun discussing a contract extension.
- Cleveland Cavaliers G Delonte West was missing from training camp again on Wednesday due to personal reasons. The club hasn't released too many details about the situation but rumours are starting to develop that Cavs GM Danny Ferry is shopping West around the league. With the type of trouble he is in, don't expect many teams to take a flyer on him.
- Minnesota Timberwolves C/PF Al Jefferson showed up to camp 31 pounds lighter this year. He credits the weight loss to Subway. "Ham and turkey on wheat bread, footlongs; sometimes I eat two footlongs," Jefferson told the Pioneer Press.
NFL
- Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini has announced that Derek Anderson will replace Brady Quinn as the teams starting QB. Mangini benched Quinn at half time during the teams Sunday loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
- The Miami Herald is reporting that Dolphins injured QB Chad Pennington has opted to have surgery to repair a torn capsule in his right shoulder.
NHL
- The Phoenix Coyotes have signed C Robert Lang to a one-year contract. As per team policy, terms were not disclosed.
- The Atlanta Thrashers have signed F Maxim Afinogenov and D Mark Popovic to one-year deals. Both players were invited to training camp on a try-out and made the roster at the end of camp.

Kobe has been with this team his entire NBA career, I'd like to see him play for another team just to see what he could do for that franchise.
