Punches Thrown in Bench Clearing Brawl Between Jays and Yankees

Blue Jays P Jesse Carlson and Yankee C Jorge Posada were in the center of a bench-clearing brawl in the Jays 10-4 route of the Yankees. Early in the game, Blue Jays 2B Aaron Hill and 3B Edwin Encarnacion were both hit by Yankee pitchers. In the 8th inning, Carlson retaliated and threw behind Posada. Both benches cleared as the two players exchanged pleasantries. No punches were thrown. Later in the inning, Brett Gardner hit a 2-run double that scored Posada. As Posada crossed the plate, Carlson approached him and the two exchanged words before Carlson engaged and both teams clashed at home plate. The two were both ejected when order was restored. After the fight, footage showed Jays C Rod Barajas being dragged around by his equipment during the melee. Carlson was seen with a sizable welt on the side of his face. Slow motion replay also shows Jays utility man John McDonald punching Yankee manager Joe Girardi in the side of the head. Can't wait to see what happens in regards to fines and/or suspensions tomorrow. If you haven't seen footage of the brawl, I've posted it in the Featured Videos section in the sidebar. Keep it posted for more on the incident.
