- The Boston Red Sox have set a December 7th deadline to come to a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays for ace P Roy Halladay. Toronto is targeting a package of prospects headed by P Clay Bucholz and P/SS Casey Kelly.
- It is being rumoured that the Detroit Tigers are shopping star 1B Miguel Cabrera.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in Jays P Roy Halladay. The two teams have had discussions. The Jays are asking for Dodgers P Chad Billingsley and a few prospects.
- The Boston Red Sox could target SS Miguel Tejada or SS Stephen Drew in the off-season.
- The Jays, Rangers and Rays seem to be the likeliest landing spots for troubled Cubs OF Milton Bradley.
- The New York Yankees have talked to the Detroit Tigers about the availability of OF Curtis Granderson.
- The Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers have expressed interest in free-agent P Jarrod Washburn.
- Yankees OF Nick Swisher is available.

- The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets have been discussing a trade that would send SG Tracy McGrady to the Knicks. Cutino Mobley's expiring contract could be one of the pieces getting sent back to the Rockets.
- Golden State Warriors F Anthony Randolph has apparently requested a trade.
- Milwaukee Bucks F Joe Alexander told reporters he would be open to a move to another team to get more minutes.

- The Leafs may be close to acquiring Chicago Blackhawks F Patrick Sharp. It is unknown what the Blackhawks are seaking in return but it is being reported that it could be a three-team deal. Leafs LW Alex Ponikarovsky would be sent to the Edmonton Oilers.
- The Montreal Canadiens are trying to trade Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn. There is a rumour that they are talking to Edmonton about F Andrew Cogliano.
- The Florida Panthers are actively shopping C Nathan Horton and LW Rostislav Olesz. They would like to acquire a first line center.
- The Philadelphia Flyers are interested in Anaheim Ducks F Bobby Ryan.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs and rookie G Jonas Gustavsson have discussed the framework for a contract extension that would keep him in a Leaf uniform long-term.
NFL
- Former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan could be the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Shanahan met with team officials over the weekend.
- The San Diego Chargers are in contract talks with free-agent LT Jon Runyan, according to ESPN. A deal could get done sometime this week.
- The Bills may be shopping Terrell Owens after a horrible start to the season. T.O. is already frustrated with his role and a deal could be imminent. The Chicago Bears are interested.
- Cleveland Browns QB Brady Quinn could be on his way out of town soon. He is unhappy with his demotion early in the season and would like a change of scenery.
MMA
- MMA Fanhouse is reporting that George St. Pierre and Dan Hardy could headline the UFC 111 card which will take place in March in New Jersey. It would be a title fight.
- Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Ben Rothwell could be the co-headliner at UFC 110 from Sydney, Australia on February 20th. A new rumour has Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping meeting at the same event as the other co-main event.
