MLB Playoff Update

The Philadelphia Phillies are one step closer to repeating as World Series Champs. On Monday night, the Phillies beat the Colorado Rockies 5-4 in a thrilling game 4 to clinch a berth in the NLCS. It was 4-2 in the ninth when Phillies 1B Ryan Howard hit a clutch 2-run double to tie the ball game. OF Jason Werth came to bat next and followed up with a single to score Howard in what ended up being the game-winning run. The NLCS and ALCS match-ups are now set. The Phillies will take on the Dodgers and the Yankees will face the Angels. Game 1 of the Phillies-Dodgers series will kick off on Thursday while the Yankees-Angels series will get underway on Friday. Two big surprises here. I saw the Cardinals as a team built for the playoffs; big miscalculation. I underestimated Joe Torre and the Dodgers who were my favourite team last post-season until they made an early exit. The Angels also shocked the Red Sox in a 3-game sweep. If both Los Angeles teams make it into the World Series, it would make for quite the story.
